We are open for Private and Semi-Private swim sessions for four days starting June 1st. We have changed schedules and available swim times in order to maintain our new precautions and social distancing protocols. The Virus is not transmitted through Pools according to the CDC website.
The CDC has indicated that there is no evidence the virus can be transmitted in a properly maintained pool. We always use chlorine in our pool as a disinfectant to provide the safest swimming environment foR our students. Please visit the CDC website link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html
New Precautions and Social Distancing Protocols for Phase I:
We are limiting the number of people in our outdoor pool during Phase I of Social Distancing opening in the State of Louisiana. Instructors and swimmers will not be required to wear masks while in the pools, due to wet masks making it hard to breathe. At Delhomme Swim School, we will continue to monitor and maintain safe chlorine levels, which protect our instructors and swimmers while in our pools.
We ask that families help us to keep our facilities, instructors, and swimmers safe by preparing for the following changes:
1. We ask that one (1) responsible adult per swimmer accompany the students to our outdoor lessons. No siblings or other children will be permitted around the pool without a lesson. If we need to meet you in the parking area to get your child, then that can be arranged.
2. Only one (1) swimmer per instructor will be permitted in the pool area during privates lessons, with a maximum of 5 instructors in the pool at a time. Swimmers must exit the pool immediately following their lesson. No one will be permitted in the pool unless he/she is in a lesson. Playtimes will not be available in phase I. The class time will be a full lesson.
3. Please remain 6 feet apart at all times while in our Pool area and parking area. We have plenty of socially distanced outdoor seating available to prevent close contact with others.
4. No sick/ill people will be allowed in our pool area. Please reschedule your lesson if the adult bringing the child or the child is sick/ill. Please give us as much notice as possible by texting or leaving a voicemail At 337-962-6945.
Arrival and Departure Procedures:
If possible, arrive ready to swim. Please do not come in earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson. Please use the bathroom before arriving to help prevent any contact.
Swimmers must exit the pool immediately following the lesson. Please promptly speak with your instructor and remove your child from the pool, so the next swimmer can enter the pool.
Please exit promptly and change your child in the car and not the changing room following the lesson.
